TEAPOTS
Refined
In my teapot work, each new level of refinement is extremely hard won. I have spent the past year reworking many of my favorite teapots. In the process, I have developed an even more critical eye and a better connoisseurship of the teapot form. Both form and function are improved in the new pots. Most significantly, the pour has been largely improved by subtle adjustments to the spout form.
About
the pots
As before, the pots are made in two basic sizes --very small pots for brewing traditional Asian teas, and larger pots also appropriate for Western tea. The larger pots are in the $600 range. The smaller ones are in the $400 range.
All my teapots are made from a cone six porcelain and glazed inside and out. They have strainers built into the body, making them ideal for brewing loose whole leaf teas. The lids have long flanges and a tight fit, so they will not tip out when you pour. The handles are well-balanced and the pour is strong and dripless.
To
order
By clicking on an image, you can see a larger image with more detailed information. Call or
e-mail
to place an order. There is generally a two or three month turn around time.
Keeping
in touch
I am building two teapot
(e-)mailing lists. One for general updates and another for those interested in the occasional dramatically reduced "second". Please send an e-mail if you would like to be added to either list.
